Question 1: How much time do I have to prepare the project?

Answer 1: The deadline for project registration is October 1st, 2011. Until then you have the whole time to get on www. volunteersonthemove.eu and to inform yourself, to ask our consultants advice, to make a team and to search together for a idea that can be transformed into a movie. After all these you only have to complete the datasheet from the web site.

Question 2: Where can I find more information about how to make a movie?

Answer 2: You can find information from the contest web site, www.volunteersonthemove.eu. In the section "Online-Library" you can find video records and presentations that will help you to get use with the main notions about how to create a movie and about the way you can send a message trough images. Here you can also find information about European Union, about how you should write a synopsis and how to manage with a project. For any other questions, "Online Consulting" section can help you; write us and you will receive answers from competent persons.

Question 3: Can a team participate with more than one project?

Answer 3: No. For additional arguments read the Terms&Conditions document.

Question 4: How many persons can form a team?

Answer 4: The contest is open to all young persons from Romania, Malta, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland. The teams will have minimum 3 and maximum 4 members. You can find more details in Terms&Conditions document.

Question 5: In the project the synopsis in which language will be written: Romanian or English?

Answer 5: The project synopsis will be written in English language.

Question 6: The movies that have more than 3 minutes (for example 5 minutes maximum) will be disqualify?

Answer 6: The movies that will be over 3 minutes will be disqualified. Is very important not to overcome the 3 minutes and also the upload limit of 50 Mb.

Question 7: The projects can be register only using the web site or we can also put them on a DVD, CD and to be handed at headquarter of the organization?

Answer 7: The movies can be registered only online after completing the registration form and uploading the movie. We recommend you to keep the original (in case it will appear any inconvenience).

Question 8: About the movies soundtrack, it can be assume, without copyright or this aspect is not aloud and the music must be our own creation?

Answer 8: In your movies you can use images, music and other sequences even there are not your own creation. Is very important to mention the name and the authors of the sources.

Question 9: For not to exceed the 50 Mb limit, we must decrease the resolution and the image quality will be lost. Under these conditions the movies will be disqualified?

Answer 9: No. You can edit your movie with an edit programme (Windows Movie Maker, Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid, etc) and you can post it at a smaller resolution, 352x288, as it will fit in 50 Mb limit for update. You can eventually use the initial resolution for visualisation and using if the project will win the contest. For converting the video we recommend WinFF or FFMpeg.

Question 10: What should we do if we can't upload the movie?

Answer 10: To upload the movie you need a good internet connection and try not to upload it in the last day because the server may block if the file is hot (there are too many persons using it). For any errors and problems you can ask for our help using the online contact form.

Question 11: There is a chance that some of the movies include a covered advertise of some brands. Is this an interdiction or the team can be disqualified for that?

Answer 11: There is no interdiction about that and we won't disqualify the movies for this reason.

Question 12: What represent a "synopsis" and what this synopsis involve?

Answer 12: A synopsis is the summary of the subject, of the movie scenario. In the "Online Library" section of the web site, on Resources chapter you can find a few examples of synopsis and a guide of how to write it.

Question 13: I can not access my account. What should i do?

Answer 13: If you don't remember your password, you can reset it any time from the login page. Trying too many wrong passwords can lead to access restrictions.

Question 14: Why it says "login restricted" even if i use my correct password?

Answer 14: After multiple failed log in attempts we restrict access to prevent brute-force attacks. You can't do anything but wait. We recommend trying again after some hours.

Trying to access your restricted account increases the time to wait to reset your access.
