The "Volunteers on the Move" Framework Event

The "Volunteers on the Move" Framework Event is a 3 day event which will take place in Arad, Ioan Slavici Theatre, between 3 and 5 February. Within the event there will be organized also presentation corner of the NGO's and public institutions involved, as well as workshops, volunteering activities for the community.

Short Film Contest "Volunteers on the Move"

Are you between 15-30 years? Are you creative? You like to get involved in volunteering and have a developed artistic sense?

Now's your chance to participate in the "Volunteers on the Move" at the Short Film Competition - organized by the Ofensiva Tinerilor Association.

If our idea interest you we propose the following:
- Gather your friends to be another 2-3 more creative, ambitious and energetic persons
- Sign up and register your team on site www.volunteersonthemove.eu
- Note the prizes: first place - visit in Brussels (European Parliament + important institutions of the European Union); sites II and III - participation in an international project.

Call your grandparents, ask them if they want to help you, not you make a cake this time, but the creation of short film. So do not forget to include in your work in at least one person over 60 years. Winners, young (and others) everywhere will participate in an organized event in November this year, the event will last three days and where we'll watch the best short films, will participate in workshops, we will plant trees and more.

Movies can have the theme:

- Volunteering as a way of combating social exclusion of elderly and special needs;
- Volunteering as a way of promoting social inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities.

Volunteers on the Move - Ofensiva Tinerilor Association


         "Volunteers on the move" project is financed by the European Commission trough the European Year of Volunteering 2011; the project takes place between 31.03.2011 and 31.03.2012, is coordinated by the Ofensiva Tinerilor Association in collaboration with: Organizatia Studentilor din Arad, Organizatia Tinerilor cu Initiativa - Olt, Organizatia Tinerilor cu Initiativa filiala Arad, Asociatia Educatio, Centrul Zonal Ecologic Arad, Asociatia Dezvoltarea Resurselor Pentru Toti DREPT, Directia Judeteana pentru Sport si Tineret.

         The project "Volunteers on the Move" will take place on 4 stages: preparing, implementing, valorization and evaluation. The first stage, preparing consist in the realisation of electronic portal of the project, the advanced planning visit organisation, preparing the contest rules and launching the transnational short films contest, organizing a training course for recourse persons, recruiting/selection of the participant for the main event. In the second part (implementing) the activities of the main event will be prepared, 3 days event realisation. The third stage (valorization) is referring at the preparing and realisation of valorization seminary, making an audio-video report (coverage) about the participants learning experience from the project and also realisation of the project magazine. The last stage (evaluation) is referring to the final evaluation seminary.

         "Volunteers on the Move" project proposes to achieve relevant competences by the persons who ensure human/social infrastructure of the public and private organisations that are working in volunteering fields and also creating of sustainable tools as: transnational electronic platform useful for good practices exchange and learning experiences dissemination (trough audio-video output) in volunteering field.

        "Volunteers on the Move" project target group is referring at 2 categories: main and secondary. The main category includes youth between 15-30 years and youth workers involved in organizing voluntary activities, from partner countries (Romania, Malta, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia). The secondary category of target group includes persons over 60 years old (who participate in youth initiatives from the main category) and electronic space users.

This projects objectives are:
-    During 12 months, creating an electronic platform of good practice and learning experiences exchange in volunteering field with the co-participation of a network of promoters/partners organizations (at least 40 NGO and 10 public institutions from minimum 5 UE countries);
-    Developing of managerial/entrepreneurship competences useful for a network of 30 organizers of volunteers activities;
-    Competences developing (useful to the network management and volunteers) of the workers from at least 26 NGO and 4 public institutions from Romania that has volunteer activities character.

       Youngsters and seniors having residence in one of the countries Romania, Malta, Poland, Hungary or Slovakia, will realize short movies which will show a local volunteering initiative on the theme of volunteering as a way to fight against social discrimination of elderly people and with special needs, or a way of promoting the social inclusion of youngsters with fewer opportunities. These movies will be posted online on the project website www.volunteersonthemove.eu, everyone having the possibility to vote for the favorite movie.

        The contest winners, together with youngsters (and not only) from everywhere will be able to participate within the Framework Event, which will take place for 3 days in November this year and where there will be viewed the best movies from the contest, there will be the chance to participate in  different workshops, to plant trees and other activities.
